I am emailing you to thank you so much for the unbelievable effort you put in with regards to the recent sale of my wife’s aunt and uncles townhouse.

Jane, Kym and the Briar Hill Group, you were absolutely fantastic. You went out of your way to help us with this sale. I believe it was every weekend (or close to it) that you had an open house and either phoned or emailed me to let me know how it went. It was so great to have your constant input from these open houses. It sure helped with the many questions asked by my wife’s elderly aunt and uncle. I would also like to thank you for calling them to let them know how it was going.

I have bought and sold houses over the years and have never experienced the type of work you put into the selling of this home. The only way I can explain it is you were just phenomenal right from the start to the finish of the handling of this unit.

 In December of 2009 I had found a home via MLS® that I was interested in viewing.  But I knew nothing about finding and purchasing a home or anything else about how the real estate market worked.  Literally nothing.  Somehow, and I am not even sure I remember how it happened, I became involved with Jane Johnston of Pemberton Holmes.  I am by nature a very cautious person.  If not outright skeptical and paranoid, especially of the sales world.  My trust is a hard earned thing.  In the beginning stages, I did not understand that as my REALTOR®, she represented my interests as opposed to those of the seller.  Jane, burdened with my misunderstanding of the real estate industry had the dubious honour of representing my interests when I was perhaps not always the most cooperative of clients (to put it gingerly).  But her efforts earned my confidence as it became apparent to me that it was my interests she truly represented.

In December of 2009, over the Christmas holidays, she assisted me in putting an offer on a home that had been foreclosed.  Her understanding of the unique nature of the process of dealing with foreclosed homes helped me navigate the complicated process.  And additionally, as a home offer on a foreclosure requires the approval of the courts, she fought an uphill battle on my behalf in the face of unfavourable odds and even bids that were higher than what I was capable of matching.  Her unrelenting determination to see us awarded that home in the face of certain failure was inspiring, but in the end I was unable to match the bid of one of my competing suitors.  Early in 2010, Jane showed us some homes we liked and we eventually decided to put an offer down on one.  The home we liked was of a comparable price to the one we had made an offer on in December.  I had set a figure in my mind and decided if it was possible to get this home at a certain price, we would accept.  Jane managed to get this home for us significantly below what I was hoping to pay, which well exceeded my expectations.  And, we liked it more than the house were so disappointed to have lost back in December, notwithstanding the better price. 

Entering the housing market as a first time home buyer feels much like walking onto a car lot as a first time car buyer.  One can never know who and where the sharks are and may be a bit nervous about the sales representatives they encounter.  After getting to know Jane, it wasn't that I found satisfaction and comfort in knowing she was not a shark, because she certainly was one.  Except that she was the shark in our corner.  As a prospective home buyer, do not take my word as testimony to her skill, knowledge of the market and excellence as a REALTOR®, instead believe through my intentions to use her to sell my home should I ever require selling it.  The alternative to this would be to have to face her in the real estate market representing someone who might wish to buy my home, a thought that is of no comfort.  I would recommend to anyone to use Jane Johnston for the purchase of a home.  In a market full of sharks, it is safest to have the sharks on your side.

I would like to drop you a quick note to let you know how grateful and impressed I have been with my REALTOR® Jane.
